How to use 5V Relay Module

Photo of 5V relay module

A relay module that operates at 5V. It can be used like a switch, and when a specific signal is sent, it can safely turn ON/OFF machines that use high power.
It can also be used for robots and automated smart houses.

About the component

The relay in the red circle area in the photo can safely switch high-voltage and high-current circuits when it receives digital signals.

The relay uses electromagnetic force to physically operate a switch, completely separating the control circuit from the controlled circuit, providing high safety and is used for controlling various electrical devices.

Connection

Connect the 5V relay module and SpaceBlock dedicated microcontroller board using jumper wires (male-female) as follows.

  • 5V relay module S pin and SpaceBlock digital-compatible pin
  • 5V relay module G pin and SpaceBlock GND
  • 5V relay module V pin and SpaceBlock 5V

※The image shows the signal line connected to the D2 pin. Digital-compatible pins are D2~D13.

※5V and GND can also be inserted into pins with the same notation on the SpaceBlock dedicated microcontroller board.

How to use

You can control the ON/OFF of the relay by sending digital signals.
When the relay is ON, electricity flows to the connected device, and when it's OFF, electricity stops.
You can control the 5V relay module using blocks in the "Output" category of your project.
